Finally releasing Cole World: The Sideline Story, J. Cole is one of the biggest rappers in the game. But, aside from releasing the final single off his album during the summer of last year, J. Cole kept silent. In interviews, though, J. Cole continued to tell the world his next album was coming soon.
J. Cole eventually conceded 2012 and moved his focus over to 2013. While J. Cole did not release any new music in 2012, it does not mean he was not working. Two of the biggest songs, non-singles, over the past couple of years have been Nas’ “Stay,” off his comeback, Life is Good, and Rick Ross’ “Tears of Joy,” off Teflon Don.
When J. Cole sat down with MTV News, he talked about his relationship with No I.D. and the music. In the latest clip released to the internet, J. Cole talked about how both Nas’ song “Stay” and also Rick Ross’ “Tears of Joy” were first offered to them. Obviously, J. Cole passed the songs up.
