DJ Whoo Kid talks “Get Rich or Die Tryin'” with ThisIs50.com [VIDEO]

Yesterday marked the tenth anniversary of the release of Get Rich or Die Tryin,’ the debut album from 50 Cent. In the time since then, 50 Cent has released three more solo albums and three compilations. Few artists will sell as much as 50 Cent has over the past decade, but those with him for the ride recount the stories of how he got there.

Over the course of his career, 50 Cent has had many close affiliates. One of the most important people to 50 Cent early in his run was DJ Whoo Kid. Upon being dropped from Columbia Records, 50 Cent teamed up with DJ Whoo Kid and began releasing mixtapes. These mixtapes helped to put 50 Cent over the top.

50 Cent jumped into several different markets over the past decade. Among the holdings in the business portfolio of 50 Cent is ThisIs50.com. Interviewing many of the biggest figures in hip hop, DJ Whoo Kid recently stopped by to discuss 50 Cent’s debut. DJ Whoo Kid told stories about the album, while cracking jokes with Young Jack Thriller.
