With several stars in the city of Atlanta, their elementary schools turned to rappers for their annual career days. Earlier this week, Gucci Mane spoke at career day for a local Atlanta school. Days later, Shawty Lo was invited to speak at an Atlanta school. Earlier today, Shawty Lo spoke at Atlanta’s Best Academy.
Recently, Shawty Lo caught a lot of flack for his reality show, “All My Babies’ Mamas.” After a major backlash, Oxygen nixed their plans of premiering the series. Feeling his story needs to be told, Shawty Lo has circulated a petition. Because of both his lifestyle and his apparent need to broadcast it, Shawty Lo is not viewed as a role model by most.
Despite what has happened in his life, Shawty Lo is a self-made multimillionaire. With the way the world is set up, the goal is to go to school and get a good job. The purpose of the good job is to make good money. Most rappers wound up taking the shortcut, including Shawty Lo and he explained his story to the students.
