Kendrick Lamar has set the standard for what the “New West” wants to accomplish. In a matter of months, Kendrick Lamar went over and beyond Tyler, the Creator and his movement. But, the “New West” remains noncompetitive, as their focus is putting the West back on top and this starts with Los Angeles.

Another figure setting records out West is Kid Ink. Starting 2013 off right, Kid Ink announced his new deal with RCA Records. During the summer of 2012, Kid Ink independently released his Up & Away album. Through his RCA deal, Kid Ink will release his official debut album.

Kid Ink is currently setting the release dates up, but he is promoting his “Bad Ass” single. It was this single that brought him to New York City. Linking up with Power 105.1’s “The Breakfast Club,” Kid Ink talked about his new record deal and his new single, which he is promoting.
