Without input from Dr. Dre, Game probably would not have become as big of an artist as he has over the past decade. Longer than the hip hop world has known of Game, they have known Dr. Dre was working on Detox. After his 2001 album, Dr. Dre announced he had one more album to deliver to the world and then he was done.
However, Dr. Dre delayed this album to develop Eminem, Game, and 50 Cent. With all three artists the biggest rap stars in the game, Dr. Dre still has the album on hold. In 2011, it seemed as if Dr. Dre would finally release the album, with “I Need a Doctor” doing exceptionally well.
It has already been said by many, including Tyler, the Creator, that Detox will never see the light of day. Recently, Game talked to VIBE TV and the subject of Dr. Dre’s Detox was touched upon. During the interview, Game said he does not believe Dr. Dre will ever release his new album.
