Maybach Music took the first five months of 2012 to complete their mixtape releases and finish promoting older albums. During this time, Wale released his “Sabotage” single with Lloyd. But, in May, the Maybach Music press conference took place and it announced Wale’s sophomore album for a 2013 release.
With no album scheduled for 2012, Wale released Folarin. Though the mixtape was the quality of an album, comparable to Rick Ross’ Rich Forever, it was not an official album from Wale. However, there will soon be an official project in the works that will be announced.
In the meantime, Wale is preparing for more promotion for the Folarin mixtape. Likely, one of the songs off Folarin could be the lead single to his upcoming album. Wale will be taking Folarin on the road, starting later this month. The Folarin tour recently launched and will have Wale touring through Louisiana and Texas.
