Suddenly, Philadelphia has taken over hip hop headlines on a daily basis. Known for its “brotherly love,” Philadelphia is the center of rap’s biggest current feud. In 2011, Meek Mill and Rick Ross began working together when he joined Maybach Music. Quickly, Meek Mill burst onto the mainstream scene, becoming a superstar.
Meek Mill’s breakout success from the mixtape scene was comparable to Cassidy who made a similar rise eight years prior. Cassidy would speak out to Meek Mill on Twitter, leading to hostile exchanges in the summer of 2012. In the fall, Cassidy and Meek Mill officially became rivals and have exchanged diss records.
The latest record from Cassidy was called “R.A.I.D.,” which stands for Robert’s Ass Is Dead and the single artwork pays homage to the Raid bug spray. Back in his hometown, Cassidy spoke on the ongoing feud between he and Meek Mill. Cassidy talked to Philadelphia’s Hot 107.9 about his ongoing feud with Meek Mill and he talked about his upcoming new single.
