One of the biggest hip hop myths in hip hop history is the rap battle that took place between DMX and Jay-Z. During this time, Irv Gotti had linked up DMX and Jay-Z, along with Ja Rule. The Murder Inc. group was signed to Def Jam and pegged as the future of the hip hop game.
Swizz Beatz also was in the midst of this, as DMX was a member of Ruff Ryders. At the time, Swizz Beatz began working for the company when it was being run by his uncles. It has often been said that DMX and Jay-Z really did not like each other. In several interviews, Ja Rule said egos killed Murder Inc., hinting at DMX and Jay-Z.
A very proud man, Jay-Z lost the battle with DMX, according to many. There are also rumors of this being the basis of the current feud between DMX and Jay-Z. Vlad TV recently spoke to Swizz Beatz. During their interview, Swizz Beatz spoke on this, along with money.
