One reason Midwest hip hop has gained traction in the mainstream hip hop world is because of the support on the streets. A driving force in the Midwest mixtape game is DJ Tay Don’t Play. The Lansing, Michigan native has become one of Michigan’s biggest mixtape DJs and has strong followings in Atlanta and Miami.
DJ Tay Don’t Play built a solid relationship with several Maybach Music members. An official DJ for Gunplay’s Don Logan DJs, DJ Tay Don’t Play is close with Young Breed and Scotty, the latest signee. Over the past few months, DJ Tay Don’t Play has been on quite a run with his mixtapes.
Once again paired with fellow Midwest mixtape pusher, DJ Big Wayne, DJ Tay Don’t Play is working on the latest Maybach Music mixtape. Money Bags and Maybachs is the name of the new project. The new mixtape will soon be released, but is currently still in developmental stages.
