Before Outkast, Atlanta hip hop was non-existent outside of the local rappers performing at open mic nights. However, Andre 3000 and Big Boi changed the way the world thought of Atlanta hip hop. Debuting in the mid-1990s, by 2000, Atlanta was home to several stars, including Ludacris.
Ludacris, due to his solo reputation, receives a lot of praise for his part in helping put the city of Atlanta on the map. Not until 2010 did Big Boi release a solo album and the world still waits for an Andre 3000 album. Big Boi, as of today, is officially two albums deep.
Big Boi is in New York City and stopped by Power 105.1 to discuss Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors with “The Breakfast Club.” During their conversation, Big Boi would also discuss Andre 3000. Before ending things, Big Boi was also asked how he feels about the resurgent Atlanta hip hop scene.
