Before mixtapes were the “norm” in the rap game, J-Hood was one of the few rappers releasing mixtapes. At first, rappers only put unused tracks on mixtapes. J-Hood, and a few others, made it commonplace for rappers to record mixtapes in the same fashion as they do albums. By the time the rest of the rap game caught wind of this trend, J-Hood was already over ten mixtapes deep. With each of his projects doing well, J-Hood is now a legend, some eleven years later. Teaming up with DJ Far, J-Hood released his Best of Hood mixtape, sub-titled The Collection. Containing songs from some of his best-known mixtapes, J-Hood decided to drop this mixtape exclusively through Hip Hop Vibe.
