Whether or not if Big Sean is simply a fad or the next big thing, he has a place in history. Big Sean is the first artist from Detroit to gain fame in the rap world without being affiliated with Eminem. Instead, Big Sean wound up working with Kanye West and signed to G.O.O.D. Music.

Big Sean sat on the G.O.O.D. Music roster for four years before he had his chance to shine. Starting with “My Last” with Chris Brown, Big Sean proved he had what it took to dominate the game. Overall, 2011 was a good year for G.O.O.D. Music, with Kanye West on throne watch with Jay-Z, Pusha T making his solo debut, and Big Sean.

Closing 2011, Big Sean announced his next album and the G.O.O.D. Music album. In the end, the only release was Cruel Summer. While in the United Kingdom, Big Sean spoke with Tim Westwood. During the interview, Big Sean revealed he and Eminem would be collaborating and that Hall of Fame would have no sub-title.
