Spike Lee’s Knicks vs. Nets Intro [VIDEO]

Lines are blurred when it comes to hip hop and the NBA. Drake mentions this on his “Thank Me Now” track off Thank Me Later. Often, he and many others, compare themselves to basketball players. Jay-Z calls himself the Mike Jordan of recording and soon Wayne dubbed himself LeBron James.

The new-look Miami Heat, which is led by Dwayne Wade, LeBron James, and Chris Bosh, have been mentioned in countless rap lines. NBA Finalist, Kevin Durant owns a record label and recently released a single. Hip hop’s Michael Jordan even went as far as buying ownership in the Nets and moving them to Brooklyn.

Spike Lee is the biggest fan of New York City basketball and is suddenly torn, as his hometown joins Los Angeles as a city with two NBA franchises. In anticipation of the first game between the New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets, Spike Lee put together a short clip. Lee explains how he supports both teams and then asks the opinion of others.
