North Carolina made its initial entry into the hip hop world in 2001, when Petey Pablo put the state on the map with his “Raise Up” single. Rappers continued to make strides from the state, but none were able to break through until J. Cole caught the attention of Jay-Z. Now, there is a big spotlight on North Carolina hip hop.

Hip Hop Vibe has shown a glimpse into the hip hop scenes of North and South Carolina, displaying several rappers and DJs. There is much hip hop talent in both states and more cities to be introduced. New Bern, North Carolina is definitely Chedda Chapp’s turf and is working with some of the people who worked with J. Cole on his rise.

Chedda Chapp, through his strong work ethic and dedication, has become one of the top artists in North Carolina. Over the past few years, Chedda Chapp released several street anthems. Since last month, alone, Chedda Chapp delivered a street hit with “Hollywood Talk.”
