Rick Ross and Gucci Mane collaborated for the first time on The State vs. Radric Davis. At the time, Rick Ross was preparing to work closely with both Gucci Mane and Young Jeezy. During this time, there were also rumors of an end to the longtime feud between Gucci Mane and Young Jeezy.

The strong relationship between Rick Ross and Young Jeezy soured during the summer of 2010, when Jeezy freestyled over “BMF.” Rick Ross truly took over the rap game with “BMF” and he received Young Jeezy’s freestyle as disrespect. Before this, Rick Ross featured Gucci Mane on Teflon Don.

In 2012, the feud between Young Jeezy and Rick Ross became violent at the 2012 BET Hip Hop Awards. Gucci Mane would comment on the feud, re-starting the long-standing feud with Young Jeezy. Already working with Gucci Mane, Rick Ross has become a frequent collaborator and they teamed up for “Respect Me,” a diss to the Atlanta don.

The song took over the internet and now the music video is set to premiere.
