Over the past few years, the cyphers have become the most popular segment of the BET Hip Hop Awards. At last year’s ceremony, the cyphers gained much media attention, as many fan favorites rocked the mic. Fans agreed Eminem, Slaughterhouse, and Yelawolf, collectively known as Shady 2.0, performed the best.

The 2012 BET Hip Hop Awards included several fan favorites of past and present. Representing the West Coast, there was Snoop Dogg, Xzibit, Ab-Soul and Kendrick Lamar. Many old school veterans were also included in the cyphers. DMX and Eve staged their comebacks during the Ruff Ryders cypher.

Other cyphers included the new school, including Lil Chuckee, and T.I.’s Grand Hustle cypher.
