Jay-Z to release “Live in Brooklyn” EP

Ever since the release of The Blueprint 3, Jay-Z fans have been awaiting a new release from him. On the heels of his last album, Jay-Z did speak on an upcoming album he had in the works. However, Jay-Z ultimately decided to team up with Kanye West to release their classic album, Watch the Throne.

Watch the Throne served to build hype for Jay-Z and Kanye West. Fans began anticipating new albums from both Jay-Z and Kanye West. While both artists enjoyed the success of the album, it was made clear Jay-Z would not be releasing a solo album anytime soon. Jay-Z would release “Glory” in honor of the birth of Blue Ivy Carter.

Many were expecting 2012 to close without the release of a Jay-Z project. Currently, Jay-Z is promoting the Barclays Center in New York City. Jay-Z purchased a stake in the Nets, of the NBA, eventually moving them to Brooklyn. Over the past few weeks, Jay-Z has been performing at the Barclays Center and he recently announced his Live in Brooklyn EP.

The project will feature eight songs and will be released on October 9.
