For years, Jim Jones was solely known for his rap career, which included his 2006 breakout hit, “Ballin.'” The song performed well, but was the prelude to his split from Cam’ron, which saw Jim Jones take Juelz Santana and side with 50 Cent. During this period of time, Cam’ron was involved in a high-profile feud with 50 Cent.

In 2009, Jim Jones and Cam’ron began making steps toward each other. Cam’ron had re-established himself and was working with new artists. Vado had taken over the role initially intended for Juelz Santana. Buzz for Vado was so high, at one point he was considered as the future of New York hip hop.

Jim Jones’ longtime girlfriend, Chrissy Lampkin would be approached in 2010 by VH1 for a reality show. Soon, Chrissy, along with Jim and Mama Jones, would become a part of the series, “Love & Hip Hop.”  Following the success of the series, Chrissy and Jim landed their own spin off, “Chrissy & Mr. Jones,” which premiered this week.

Recently, the happy couple visited Shade 45, where they spoke with Sway Calloway for “Sway in the Morning” about the series.
