Mystikal is the hottest he has ever been since 2002, when he was sent to prison. He still denies being guilty, but he served six years in prison, from 2004 until 2010. In his two year hiatus, Mystikal weighed his options, as several record labels approached him. Ultimately, Mystikal signed with Cash Money Records in 2011.
Starting in January of 2012, Mystikal hit the ground running, releasing several new songs in the early months of 2012. As the summer was prepared to go into full swing, the veteran rapper was sentenced to three months in prison. Before he went, Mystikal delivered a new mixtape to hold fans over.
Missing the entire summer, Mystikal was released in August and has gotten back into the flow of recording. A recent studio session with Mystikal in Miami, recording with label boss, Birdman, was released. Mystikal has another mixtape in the works, before his Original album is released.
