A week ago, DMX made his long-awaited return to the rap game with his first album in six years, Undisputed. Much has changed since DMX’s last album, as he finds himself trying to win the audience over. During his run, DMX was one of the biggest rappers in the game.

In a unique position and unimpressed with the new era, DMX reflected on the better days. AllHipHop.com ended up speaking with DMX and he discussed the days when hip hop was dominated by Bad Boy Records. DMX got to know The Notorious B.I.G., but never saw him smile until after he died when the “Hypnotize” video came out.

Diddy, then known as Puff Daddy, showed interest in Yonkers, checking out DMX and eventual Bad Boys, The L.O.X. Admitting he did not like DMX, Diddy signed The L.O.X., which X calls a blessing in disguise. DMX went on to mention the sour ending between The L.O.X. and Bad Boy Records and the success he has enjoyed.
