Years ago, Missy Elliott was one of the biggest names in hip hop. Missy Elliott rose to the top of the game as both a rapper and a singer. However, after the release of her 2005 album, The Cookbook, Missy Elliott faded out of the spotlight. In 2007, Missy Elliott teamed up with Keyshia Cole and Lil’ Kim for the summer hit, “Let it Go.”
However, Missy Elliott has remained out of the spotlight for the past seven years, for the most part. In 2008, it appeared as if Missy Elliott would be returning with a comeback album. While the album was in the works, production on the album suddenly stopped and the appearances from Missy Elliott dwindled.
Timbaland, Missy Elliott’s longtime partner, has remained busy, however. In recent years, he has worked with the likes of Drake and Rezz Vokalz. Recently, Timbaland and Missy Elliott were in Miami. During Timbaland’s performance, Missy Elliott joined him on stage and performed.
