Late last year, Busta Rhymes completed several business deals, ensuring the future of his career. At the time a twenty year rap veteran, Busta Rhymes was preparing for the end of his career. Busta Rhymes was in limbo, being released from Aftermath/Interscope and with a new deal at Universal Records.

Birdman, always on the prowl for new artists, began speaking with Busta Rhymes about joining Cash Money Records. Busta Rhymes has great relationships with all the artists on the label and appeared on Tha Carter III and IV. Appearing on Lil Wayne’s biggest draw, who is the label’s biggest draw, Busta Rhymes moving over was a no-brainer.

Since 2009, Busta Rhymes had been working on a new album. Joining Cash Money opened many doors for the veteran. During this time, Mystikal also signed with the historic label and Busta Rhymes entered a deal with Google Play. In the time since then, Busta Rhymes has been working on his Year of the Dragon album, which was finally released today.

Year of the Dragon features Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Trey Songz, Gucci Mane, Cam’ron, Maino, and many others.
