Rick Ross has flooded the rap game with music all year. From his Rich Forever mixtape to the Self Made 2 album, to his own God Forgives, I Don’t album, Rick Ross has been everywhere. A flurry of new songs have come from Rick Ross since the start of 2012. Among these songs was “Hold Me Back,” a single taken from the God Forgives, I Don’t LP.

The music video for “Hold Me Back” was highly-publicized, as Rick Ross had the cameras of MTV follow him. MTV captured the behind the scenes of the music video, which was filmed in New Orleans. Once the video was completed, MTV even premiered the music video on both the television network and website. Rick Ross was a fixture on MTV, more than usual, through this promotional run.

MTV was one Viacom network which supported Rick Ross’ “Hold Me Back.” However, there was another Viacom network, which banned “Hold Me Back” from their rotation, BET. Rick Ross made this public, much like Game did last year with his “Red Nation” music video. Perhaps dealing with the negative publicity, BET has had a change of heart and they will now air the music video for Rick Ross’ “Hold Me Back.” Along with debuting on top of the charts, Rick Ross enjoys another major win.
