There is new energy coming from Chicago and a lot of it is due to Chief Keef, the sixteen year old phenomenon. Chief Keef has released music throughout 2012, catching the attention of Soulja Boy, among others. But, after the release of “I Don’t Like,” it was clear Chief Keef was going to be the breakthrough artist of 2012.

Kanye West united Pusha T, Big Sean, and Jadakiss for his own remix of “I Don’t Like,” which added fuel to the already blazing fire of Chief Keef. Along the way, a minor battle was created when the producer of “I Don’t Like,” Young Chop, spoke out. The issues between Kanye West and Young Chop were settled, while a bidding way began over Chief Keef.

With his Finally Rich mixtape in the works, Chief Keef sat back and enjoyed the growth of his name through the exchange. Finally, all of this is behind him and Interscope Records signed Chief Keef to a lucrative deal. Recently, Chief Keef sat down with his label-mate, 50 Cent’s ThisIs50.com, discussing his recent success with Young Jack Thriller.
