The Chicago hip hop scene went through a tremendous growth during the mid-2000s. Among the artists to emerge during this growth was Yung Berg. During the summer of 2007, Berg immediately rose to fame with his hit single, “Sexy Ladies.” But, following the success of his lead single, Yung Berg was forgotten.

Written off as a one-hit-wonder, Yung Berg reappeared in the spring of 2008 alongside Ray J with his hit single, “Sexy Can I.” With his own album planned for a 2008 release, Yung Berg also released “Sexy Can I” as his own single. The single helped save Yung Berg from the one-hit-wonder label, but he slowly fell from the spotlight throughout 2008.

Yung Berg has remained relevant, releasing mixtapes and independent singles over the past for years. When he is not releasing his own music, Yung Berg is producing. Recently, Yung Berg returned to his native Chicago. During his return, he stopped by “The Morning Riot” to discuss a number of topics.
