Big Boi talks sophomore album

Despite being a veteran in the rap game, Big Boi had yet to release a solo album only a few years ago. As a member of Outkast, alongside Andre 3000, Big Boi earned a place in hip hop royalty, but had no history as a solo artist. With Outkast having problems getting permission from their own label to record an album, Big Boi signed a solo deal with Def Jam.

During the summer of 2010, Big Boi released his debut album, Sir Lucious, which was met with critical acclaim. After the album was released, Big Boi began speaking on his upcoming second album. From the way he sounded, it was safe to assume Big Boi would return with a follow-up in 2011. Big Boi began recording new music, but only officially announced a new album this month.

Big Boi recently announced his new album, Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors, which will boast collaborations from Big K.R.I.T. and UGK. A new verse from the late Pimp C will also be on the track featuring Big K.R.I.T. and UGK. Following the second solo release from Big Boi, Andre 300 will release the solo debut he announced earlier this year.
