No other rapper has had the type of success Meek Mill has had solely from releasing mixtapes and a few album appearances. Of course, Meek Mill had the luxury of being a part of Rick Ross’ Maybach Music, but he was chosen for a reason. Maybach Music is preparing for another year of releasing albums and Meek Mill is preparing to graduate from the mixtape game.

While preparing his debut album, Meek Mill released another mixtape, Dreamchasers 2, which has become another success. Moments after the mixtape was released, popular mixtape downloading site, DatPiff, was shut down. The anticipation was very high and led to Meek Mill’s Dreamchasers 2 being met with 2 million downloads. It is the second MMG mixtape to receive over 1 million downloads.

MTV recently caught up with Meek Mill, asking him about his new project. Meek Mill spoke on the success and said he was blessed to have 2 million downloads in as many days. Moving on to speak on his upcoming album, Dreams and Nightmares, Meek Mill said the fans can expect to hear more good music from him. Meek Mill also promised to deliver “the real me” on the album.
