Last fall, J. Cole finally had his chance to bask in the spotlight. Several delays were not enough to stop the impact Cole World: The Sideline Story had on North Carolina and the world. A state with an undeveloped hip hop scene, J. Cole’s success was major. But, even with Jay-Z behind him, many wonder if Mr. Cole can do it again, as Petey Pablo had Timbaland in his corner.

Taking a break from his College Conscious tour with Big K.R.I.T., J. Cole took a moment to speak with MTV’s “Backstage Pass.” J. Cole, though higly popular, has been overlooked in the sea of new artists to emerge. Even with all his success, many consider him to be behind Drake, Big Sean, Wiz Khalifa, and even Meek Mill.

Before the release of his album, J. Cole felt the same way, but his time to rise will be in 2012. As it stands, there is a new album in the works for 2012. During his conversation with “Backstage Pass,” J. Cole spoke on his unibrow, the new music, and being on the “Club Paradise” tour with Drake.
