For years, Kendrick Lamar has been making a name for himself in the rap game. Last year, Kendrick Lamar watched his years of hard work pay off. Having the chance to work with Snoop Dogg and Game was a dream come true. But, when he was signed by Dr. Dre to Aftermath Entertainment and hailed by many as the future of hip hop, Kendrick Lamar knew it was meant to be.

While still signed to his original label, Top Dawg Ent., Kendrick Lamar has the opportunity of a lifetime, but he is not slacking off. If anything, Kendrick Lamar finds himself working much harder, teaming up with many rappers, including Maybach Music’s Gunplay. The two came together for “Cartoons & Cereal,” which is likely taken from his upcoming official debut album.

Kendrick Lamar enjoyed a successful release with Section.80 in 2011, but decided it should not serve as his official debut album. During his recent trek to Phoenix, Kendrick Lamar spoke with Yaya Martinez about his upcoming work, including his work with Gunplay and his debut album.
