Essentially, Lil’ Kim has been replaced by Nicki Minaj, as Minaj is to the current generation what Lil’ Kim was to the previous generation. Of course, there will never be another Lil’ Kim, but her role was filled, but this did not stop her from taking aim at Nicki Minaj. Two years ago, Lil’ Kim dissed Nicki Minaj for the first time and the two feuded for a little over a year.
Lil’ Kim has since said she will no longer mention Nicki Minaj, as the topic is surrounded with negativity. Over the past few months, Lil’ Kim has been able to make news without the mention of Nicki Minaj. For the most part, fans are still waiting on Lil’ Kim to release her long-awaited comeback album.
Since Lil’ Kim’s hiatus, the female rap game has been given new life, as Nicki Minaj was the first of many new femcees to enter the game. Another femcee from New York City, representing Harlem, Azealia Banks, has made her impression on the game, recently. The rising femcee has been exchanging disses with Iggy Azalea and even called out her mentor, T.I., over the feud.
Now, Azealia Banks has moved on from dissing Iggy Azalea and has targeted the Queen Bee. Through Twitter, Azealia Banks said Lil’ Kim was upset with her because of something she wrote in a song she wanted Lil’ Kim to collaborate on. Banks continued with her Twitter rant, similar to her rant against T.I., saying Lil’ Kim does not write her own rhymes and it was her management who wanted Banks to write a verse for her. In response to all of this, Lil’ Kim released a press release to AllHipHop.com, denying the feud.

“Earlier today a press release went out making a claim that there was friction between Hip Hop Icon Lil Kim and aspiring hip artist azealia banks. The release comes as a surprise to our team,being that my client and azealia have NEVER spoke to one another or met AT ALL. Kim was actually very flattered azealia’s public admiration for her, which is why it’s so hard to understand how someone who claims to be a true Lil Kim fan could flip the script so easily on someone who was supposedly their idol. It is also VERY interesting that NO ONE from her team made any attempts to reach out to anyone from our team to voice any concerns or problems that they may have had. I have NEVER heard of anyone having a conflict with someone they have NEVER met with or personally spoke with. We have no idea what they are referencing and have no desire to discuss the matter any further as there is nothing to talk about. It honestly seems that someone from azealia’s team would rather have her fans buy into manufactured drama instead of buying music. Kim knows nothing of any beef, and furthermore has had nothing but nice things to say about her. We don’t know what this is and will not address this any further. It seems that this is another sad attempt by someone trying to use my client for publicity. We wish her nothing but the best.”
