One of the most-discussed names in hip hop right now is A$AP Rocky. New York City’s hip hop scene has finally exited the dark ages and a number of rappers are helping to return the Big Apple to prominence. While there are many artists helping restore New York to prominence, such as French Montana, Fred the Godson, Denzil Porter, and Troy Ave, Harlem has been having a much bigger overall impact.

Harlem’s The Diplomats kept New York relevant during the dark ages, along with Raekwon, Jay-Z, Nas, and others. However, such new talents as Teyana Taylor, 9 Milly, Azealia Banks, and of course A$AP Rocky have been releasing an incredible amout of new music. While all the new Harlem rappers mentioned are making major moves, A$AP Rocky is leading the pack. Due to his strong ties to the hip hop scene in the South and his universal sound, A$AP Rocky has gained favor.

WGCI’s “The Morning Riot” recently caught up with A$AP Rocky and they discussed a number of topics, including the sensational Chief Keef, along with the current hip hop scene. A$AP Rocky also showed off his freestyle skills when he freestyled a verse on Future’s “Same Damn Time.”
