Drake to collaborate with Meek Mill and 2 Chainz

Perhaps one of the top five rappers, in terms of popularity, over the past three years, Drake came up in the underground. The Toronto native traded in his acting chops for the chance to be an emcee, proving he did both equally well. Many have been inspired by Drake’s rise and have taken matters into their own hands to gain attention.

Meek Mill has been making a name for himself for years in Philadelphia. All of the hard work seemingly paid off when Meek Mill signed with Grand Hustle Records. But, due to his and T.I.’s legal trouble, the deal went South. Meek Mill returned to releasing mixtapes and was soon picked up by Maybach Music, becoming one of the most-popular rappers in the game.

2 Chainz had a similar rise, though he has been signed to a major record label for well over a decade. At a state in his life and career when most would accept the success that came, 2 Chainz turned things up and went solo. One of the hottest rappers on the Atlanta scene, 2 Chainz is now on top of the game.

Drake has paid attention to both rappers, forming relationship with them. Based off his personal relationships with Meek Mill and 2 Chainz, paired with their buzz, Drake added them to his “Club Paradise” tour. During a recent chat with MTV, Drake revealed he would be doing more than just touring with Meek Mill and 2 Chainz. The Young Money emcee said he hopes to soon collaborate with the two rappers. A collaboration is likely, as Drake has a new album in the works and will likely release a mixtape in advance.
