Tito Lopez talks debut album with “The Source” [VIDEO]

Hip hop has been transitioning for some time and several new faces have risen to stardom over the past few years. Tito Lopez is among the new faces rising to stardom, bringing a new style to the Mississippi hip hop scene. Signed to Capitol Records, Tito Lopez is working on his debut album.

Tito Lopez recently sat down with The Source, discussing his new album and his label-mates over at Capitol Records. Joining the likes of Jay Electronica, Tito Lopez does not sound like the typical Southern emcee, throwing people off. Now sharing roster space with the likes of Katy Perry and Coldplay.

During his conversation with The Source, Tito Lopez spoke about all of the changes, his work with Dr. Dre, and the rap game. Tito Lopez is a competitive rapper and he, much like many other critics, feel like rappers and hip hop are not as competitive as they once were. A number of rappers have said they are not trying to be the best lyricist, they are only focusing on appealing to their audience. Waka Flocka Flame has been among the leaders in this new movement and Tito Lopez is on the opposite side of the spectrum.
