A veteran in the rap game, many things have changed for Nas. The earlier stages of his career were defined by Nas’ career with Jay-Z. However, the two have since ended their feud and have become good friends. While Nas has gone through many changes, his reluctance to speak with the media has always remained the same.
Nas agreeing to allow VH1 to do a documentary on his career with “Behind the Music” surprised many longtime Nas fans. Throughout his career, Nas has been very private, even during his high-profile marriage to Kelis. Though the marriage, and the following divorce, were very high-profile, Nas still managed to keep the story low-profile.
MTV News recently reached out to Nas, discussing his “Behind the Music” feature with VH1. Coming as a surprise to no one, Nas revealed he was reluctant to do the “Behind the Music” feature. Nas said the reason he agreed to sit down with VH1 was because “if you do not tell your story, someone else will tell it for you.”
