Last week, 2 Chainz made an appearance on BET’s “106 & Park.” Following years of being on Ludacris’ roster at Distrubing tha Peace, 2 Chainz decided to launch his solo career. 2 Chainz spent the summer of 2011 releasing several mixtapes and doing collaborations. Quickly, 2 Chainz established himself as one of the hottest up-and-coming rappers on the Atlanta hip hop scene.
A small bidding war built over 2 Chainz during the fall of 2011. The head of his own record label, The Real University, 2 Chainz entered a joint venture with Def Jam. Since going into business with Def Jam, 2 Chainz has been working with Kanye West. Because he has been working so closely with Kanye and his G.O.O.D. Music roster, there are rumors of 2 Chainz signing there.
There have been no confirmations, but 2 Chainz and Kanye West’s relationship has grown here in recent months. Recently, MTV News caught up with 2 Chainz, asking him about Kanye West and the conversation shifted to their “106 & Park” appearance. Among the things 2 Chainz said about their appearance was that it was “good for hip hop.”
