Throughout his career, which spans two decades, Fat Joe has been a hitmaker. Fat Joe has several notable collaborations throughout his career, always able to land the hottest artists, at the moment, for collaborations. While he has never been the most-popular rapper in the game, for years Fat Joe was in the discussion. During these years, Fat Joe began working with Lil Wayne.

Lil Wayne has since gone on to become one of the biggest rappers in the game, with some arguing he is one of the all-time greats. Fat Joe’s flame also lit the fire of DJ Khaled, which has sparked a number of careers. Meanwhile, Fat Joe, himself, was in the background for a period of time, following his 2008 release.

Last year, Fat Joe released “Another Round” and the song, which features Chris Brown, has gone on to become another hit for Fat Joe this spring. One collaboration Fat Joe could have landed years ago, but resisted, was Mary J. Blige. Fat Joe said he did not want to do a song with her and it not become a hit.

However, earlier today, the star-studded remix of “Another Round” was released and Mary J. Blige has a verse. Fat Joe spoke with XXL about how this came to be. The Bronx rapper said she reached out to him, upon hearing the song. With Blige impressed with the song, she asked to be on the remix, so Fat Joe sent her the track and she recorded her verse. The remix also features Fabolous, who Fat Joe says is the go-to guy for tracks geared towards females and up-and-comer, Kirko Bangz, who Fat Joe said was hot.

Fat Joe said the single and the remix are in preparation of his upcoming album.
