In a matter of months, Diggy Simmons has transformed himself from being a regular rich kid to being a rap star. People receive different messages from Diggy’s party, yet clean, music. One message which echoes loudly in all songs from Diggy Simmons. The message is “I am not a kid anymore.”

Diggy Simmons is now a young man who has decided to place himself in the middle of the spotlight. Despite his age, Diggy Simmons appears to handle things in a mature manner. Last fall, he committed himself to being a clean rapper. However, there are still many who refuse to overlook who he is and the mistakes of his family.

It turns out Diggy Simmons recorded a response to this called “What You Say to Me,” which takes shots at J. Cole. There are two songs, “Grew Up Fast” and “Purple Heart,” where J. Cole name-drops the Simmons family. When “What You Say to Me” leaked, many were shocked because Diggy vacated his “clean” rapper persona for a brief period.

Diggy Simmons’ father, Rev Run, of Run-DMC fame, broke his silence regarding the situation, pointing out how J. Cole mentioned the family and Diggy twice and the one response from his son has caused problems. While he was in California, Diggy Simmons discussed the track and the potential feud with J. Cole.
