One positive to feuds are the free promotion, especially when it involves more than the two exchanging insults. Rick Ross and French Montana enjoyed this during the opening days of 2012, when Drake decided to use Ross’ “Stay Schemin'” to diss Common. Days later, Common freestyled over the track, responding to Drake’s diss. By the next month, the two emcees were shaking hands in Orlando at the 2012 NBA All-Star Game.

Drake and Common are past their beef, but Funkmaster Flex and DJ Clue have been going strong for two years. Their feud was revived on Tuesday, when Funkmaster Flex premiered the new Nicki Minaj single, “Beez in The Trap,” featuring 2 Chainz. Flex claimed the song was originally supposed to be released by DJ Clue on Power 105.1. DJ Clue would respond to the claim on Twitter and later on his radio show.

Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj and 2 Chainz have enjoyed additional promotion, as both are already among the most-popular artists of 2012, so far. All controversy aside, “Beez in The Trap” has done very well so far and 2 Chainz spoke with MTV News about putting more projects together with Nicki Minaj. If 2 Chainz has his way, this will be the first of many collaborations with Nicki Minaj, which he made clear during his interview.
