A few weeks ago, tragic news broke and it shocked the world. Promising young teenager, Trayvon Martin, was brutally murdered in his own neighborhood because he “looked suspicious.” When the full story was revealed, it turned out the man who murdered him was a volunteer neighborhood lookout, who was clearly drunken, and twice the size of young Martin.

Initially described as a thug who could have a gun, it turned out Martin, who was seventeen years old, was preparing to go to college, and was on the phone with his girlfriend before his life was taken. Wearing a hoodie, Trayvon Martin had been to the store, picking up a bag of Skittles and a can of soda. In response to his untimely murder, those wanting justice for Trayvon Martin have been wearing hoodies.

Hip hop artists have also gotten involved with the situation. Young Jeezy recently called for a community effort from the hip hop community to not stop until justice is served. MTV News reached out to Jeezy, asking him how he felt about the death of Trayvon Martin.
