When he named his album Life After Death, in the back of his mind many felt The Notorious B.I.G. knew his days were numbered. No one knew how true those words would be until B.I.G. died, only weeks before the album was released. Along with being one of the highest-selling hip hop albums of all-time, Life After Death is also among the most critically-acclaimed.
Through it all, the one person by The Notorious B.I.G.’s side was Lil’ Cease. A relative of B.I.G., Cease was there for everything Biggie went through. When Tupac Shakur was shot, in 1994, it was him who was called Shakur up. Tupac Shakur was eventually shot and when he blamed B.I.G., among the witnesses was Lil’ Cease.
When The Notorious B.I.G. comes up as a topic, often Lil’ Cease is turned to. However, Lil’ Cease has not had his own time as a superstar. In the background of one of Biggie’s most-notable songs, though, is Lil’ Cease. Lil’ Cease discussed this song, “Story to Tell,” with MTV News recently.
