The ability has always been there, along with the appeal, but Cam’ron has never taken over the game the way some predicted he would. The biggest moments of his career came during his stint with Roc-A-Fella Records. Before signing with Roc-A-Fella Records, however, Cam’ron was one of the best-known New York rappers. Once he left Roc-A-Fella Records, Cam’ron was still one of the bigger-named artists from New York City.

Cam’ron became one of the biggest Jay-Z detractors by 2006. However, Cam could feel Jay-Z’s pain within a year, as his crew disbanded the same way Jay-Z’s did. Unlike Jay-Z, Cam’ron was able to reunite his crew and continue making music. The crew reunited after Cam’ron released his long-awaited Crime Pays album. Months after the release of the album, Cam’ron and his former crew reunited.

Since the reunion, Cam’ron has been on the mixtape scene, releasing new music. Recently, Cam’ron released a new single, called “Fuck You.” The song was said to be the lead single off Cam’ron’s new album, which is not entirely true. It is true about Cam’ron working on a new album, but he was not ready to reveal the information. “Fuck You” is actually a single from the upcoming Gunz N Butta 2 project with Vado. Cam’ron has the new album planned for the fall of 2012 and has Nicki Minaj, Wiz Khalifa, and T.I. already on the album and he is hoping for more collaborations.
