Through the success and growing popularity of mixtapes, rappers have more releases now than they ever previously did. Even with the number of releases, mixtapes are often released as holdovers for exepcted albums. Fabolous has flooded the mixtape scene, yet his fans are still patiently waiting on his Loso’s Way 2 album.
Jay Electronica fans have been waiting on his Act II album for some time. The New Orleans rapper has been signed to Roc Nation for two years, and has kept fans waiting. Those who follow Roc Nation can see the obvious similiarities between Jay Electronica’s release dates and that of J. Cole.
With his album finally completed, Jay Electronica revealed he will write an open letter to his fans, regarding the letter. Jay Electronica thanked Lil’ B, of I’m Gay fame, for his support throughout the delays. The two announced a joint EP a few months ago and Jay Electronica suggested they complete that project.
