The first two months of 2012 have not gone so well for urban entertainers. In January, Nick Cannon’s health issues were in the forefront. This was quickly overshadowed by the suicide of Don Cornelius, which was forgotten by the time Whitney Houston’s death occurred, days later. The urban community, hip hop especially, is still reeling from the losses. Now, the current stars are having health issues.

Fortunately for Nick Cannon, he has survived his health scare. With everything figured out, Cannon spoke to ABC’s “Good Morning America” about the situation. The downside for Nick Cannon is he can no longer eat fast food. But, it is a small price to pay, as his health will now allow him to enjoy the family he has built with Mariah Carey. This family includes twin babies, one boy and one girl, which he loves with all his heart.

Another urban entertainer who is suffering health issues is Yelawolf. Before getting signed, Yelawolf was considered the Eminem of the South by many. Their voices were nearly identical, with the exception of their accents. It was only fitting for Eminem to eventually sign Yelawolf to Shady Records. Yelawolf released his Radioactive album last fall, which was considered a success by many. In the time since the release, Yelawolf has been touring in promotion of the album. During the Wisconsin stop, Yelawolf was hospitalized.

So far, Yelawolf has cancelled his Detroit show and remains in the hospital. Live Nation confirmed the show being postponed or cancelled, while he is kept for observation. Tickets will be refunded and Yelawolf will return to Detroit, eventually, to perform. There is no word on what is afflicting Yelawolf.
