Always thinking ahead, Rick Ross was hoping to pull off one of 2011’s biggest business deals, for a fourth time, with the addition of French Montana to Maybach Music. The Bronx emcee took his talents to the hometown Bad Boy Records, but continues to work with Rick Ross. For years, Rick Ross and Diddy have worked together, with Diddy managing Ross’ career.

With Maybach Music and Bad Boy being so close, Diddy attempted to add the label to his roster when the bidding war began. In the end, Rick Ross chose Warner Bros. and, nearly a year later, French Montana chose Bad Boy Records. Still, Rick Ross is a close affiliate of the company and will serve as the executive producer for Excuse My French.

It was during the summer when Rick Ross began experiencing success in his own career, first with “Hustlin'” during the summer of 2006, putting him on the national map. Four years later, Ross became a superstar with the summer hit, “B.M.F.,” with Styles P. Now, according to Ross, it is French Montana’s turn to heat up the summer, as Excuse My French is set for a July release date.
