Days after Blue Ivy Carter was born, proud papa, Jay-Z, released a song called “Glory,” which celebrated the new life. In the eyes of longtime music fans, the song was comparable to Stevie Wonder’s “Isn’t She Lovely?,” which featured vocals from his child. “Glory” featured vocals from Blue Ivy Carter, making her the youngest person to ever chart on Billboard.

Jay-Z always seems to be ahead of the curve. When things happen, Jay-Z is usually right there in the mix. The reason for this is because Jay-Z plans ahead. After discovering Beyonce was pregnant, Jay-Z decided to record a dedication track. Before the child was born, Jay-Z recruited Pharrell to produce the beat and he recorded the song.

Pharrell, who spoke with MTV News on the red carpet of the Academy Awards announced Jay-Z recorded the song in advance and all they waited on was her birth. Once Blue Ivy was born, her voice was recorded and added to the song.
