Method Man ends Wu-Tang Clan and Odd Future comparisons

Odd Future caught the attention of Method Man, among others. Last fall, Method Man discussed the group, praising their frontman, Tyler, the Creator, for his work ethic. Similar sentiments were made by Mos Def, but both said they did not see themselves working with the group. However, in April, many will see them performing at the Paid Dues Festival in San Bernadino, California.

During his interview with Global Grind, Method Man seemed surprised by the news. With a renaissance period taking place in hip hop, many are comparing the old to the new. Among the comparisons are Rick Ross to The Notorious B.I.G., Young Jeezy to Tupac Shakur, and Odd Future to the Wu-Tang Clan. This was directly addressed by Method Man.

Method Man said only idiots would make the comparison between Wu-Tang Clan and Odd Future. Going into detail, Method Man said it makes it easier to comprehend, if they can compare their current movement to something of the past. While both crews have several members and even more affiliates, the styles between the two crews are completely different.
