The name Cardiak may not ring bells yet, but his work certainly does. One of the most-popular songs a year ago was Lloyd Banks’ “Start it Up,” which featured Kanye West, Swizz Beatz, and Fabolous. Among the reasons the song was popular was the instrumental, which was produced by Cardiak. The success of “Start it Up” led to Cardiak producing “600 Benz” for Wale and Rick Ross.

During a recent interview with AllHipHop.com, Cardiak discussed how he ended up producing hit records for such stars as Lloyd Banks and Rick Ross. Cardiak revealed he has been producing tracks since 2008 and was using social networking to build buzz. Remaining humble and determined, Cardiak reached out to A&Rs for various labels and soon landed some nice deals.

Not only did Cardiak produce “600 Benz” for Maybach Music, his contributions will also be featured on the upcoming Rick Ross album, God Forgives, I Don’t. Aside from producing Rick Ross’ next album, Cardiak is also producing Fabolous’ long-awaited album, Loso’s Way 2: Rise to Power. Cardiak said he has two songs on the new Rick Ross album and they are very different from each other.

Cardiak credits a bit of his success to his work with Kanye West. After producing “Start it Up,” Kanye West had him do some work for his album with Jay-Z, Watch the Throne. While Cardiak’s tracks did not make the album, he learned a lot from Kanye West, who is a producer first and an artist second. Cardiak said working with Kanye West led him to step his game up entirely.
