For the most part, the newcomers in the rap game have stuck together. With Waka Flocka Flame and Wiz Khalifa, things have played out differently. Last month, Waka Flocka Flame called out Wiz Khalifa, saying he had no swag and hyped his way to the top. Waka Flocka Flame also runs into criticism for his lack of lyrical ability, yet he remains popular in the South. Wiz Khalifa has also built a solid fan base, while running into the same criticism.
Snoop Dogg has been a major boost to Wiz Khalifa’s career. When he was still promoting “Black & Yellow,” Snoop revealed he was a major fan of Wiz Khalifa. By 2011, the two collaborated and had several projects in the works. The chemistry between Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa was so strong, they began working on a movie together. Mac + Devin Go to High School was a success, but the soundtrack is where Snoop Dogg and Wiz shined.
Much like other newcomers, Wiz Khalifa has tried to stay away from the beef. A month has passed since he was dissed by Waka Flocka Flame and there has still been no response. However, Snoop Dogg has risen in defense of Wiz Khalifa. Early in his career, Snoop Dogg was involved in the biggest beef in hip hop history. Once he got out of the tough situation, Snoop Dogg changed his style and has avoided beef for the most part. Still, from time to time, Snoop Dogg returns to deliver a gangsta rap track.
Speaking on the Waka Flocka Flame diss with Big Boy, Snoop Dogg said he will put on his “Uncle Snoop Dogg” hat and speak with Waka Flocka about the diss. Snoop Dogg said his team is not about beef, they are too old for it. He said he will grab Waka Flocka Flame by the collar and tell him to air out his problems with Wiz Khalifa to his face and not to the media. Discussing Wiz Khalifa’s buzz, Snoop Dogg said he loves Wiz and mentioned how he has the right spirit to bring hip hop back. Everyone involved with Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa are peaceful and they do not participate in beef.
