During the summer of 2004, Lil’ Flip’s career took off. First, his “Game Over” single gained radio play and gained frequent rotation on BET and MTV. However, Lil’ Flip’s biggest hit of 2004 came when he released “Sunshine.” Around the same time, Lil’ Flip and T.I. began feuding.
Lil’ Flip’s run occurred while T.I. was serving time in prison. By 2005, Lil’ Flip had virtually disappeared from the public and T.I. had seemingly taken over. In the time since his 2004 run, Lil’ Flip has been trying to rebuild his buzz. Recently, Lil’ Flip began working towards re-gaining his spot.
Recently, Lil’ Flip signed a new deal with Twenty Two Recordings and will be releasing his new album, Ahead of My Time 1.5, on the label. The first single from the album has already been released, “Lucky Charm.” Within the next few weeks, the song should begin to build buzz.
