Dr. Dre talks NWA bio-pic

A little over twenty years ago, NWA took the world by storm. For the most part, the hip hop lifestyle and rap music was still a New York-based artform. With rap being about who a person is and where they are from, NWA let the world know they were Straight Outta Compton. NWA was easily the most-controversial group in the rap game and their emcee, Ice Cube, was the toughest of them all. No one would guess he would become the bankable Hollywood star he is twenty-five years later.

Landing his first film role in 1991, Ice Cube was producing his own films before the end of the 1990s. By the 2000s, Ice Cube began producing family-oriented films and soon he turned himself into a positive role model, something Cube takes pride in. Currently, Ice Cube has his own sitcom, based on his Are We There Yet? film series, which airs on TBS. Ice Cube is also the force behind the upcoming bio-pic for the NWA group, which has gained tremendous media attention.

In the music industry, Dr. Dre became the most-successful out of the NWA crew. While he created an identity of his own, Dr. Dre has always maintained a strong relationship with Ice Cube and MC Ren, in his post-Ruthlesss and Death Row days. Dr. Dre has recently spoken with Ice Cube about the upcoming NWA bio-pic. The famed producer revealed to TMZ that they are thinking of having the children of NWA play roles in the film. Lil’ Eazy-E mentioned this a few months ago and his sister said no role should be handed to anyone because of their bloodline.
